D. Napoli, Memoria, storia e rappresentazione. L’enigma del passato

Abstract

L’articolo si propone da un lato di mostrare l’importanza, per la storiografia, della riflessione sulla memoria in relazione al più traumatico evento del XX secolo, la Shoah; dall’altro, attraverso l’analisi dei lavori di storici come Friedländer e Hilberg e di filosofi come Ricœur, cerca di mettere in evidenza le difficoltà intrinseche legate alla rappresentazione del passato (che con la Shoah emergono in maniera più netta e evidente) senza mettere in discussione la vocazione veritativa e la specificità della storiografia.

Abstract (english)

The article aims to show the importance, for the historiography, of the reflection on memory in relation to the most traumatic event of the twentieth century, the Shoah; The author, through the analysis of the works of historians such as Friedländer and Hilberg and philosophers such as Ricœur, tries to highlight the difficulties - that emerge explicitly with the Shoah – related to the representation of the past without questioning the truthful vocation and the specificity of historiography.
