M. Damonte, Il Dono nella recente Dottrina sociale della Chiesa

Abstract

I recenti documenti della dottrina sociale della Chiesa sono ricorsi alla terminologia del dono. Si tratta di valutare il ruolo che questa nozione riveste nella Caritas in veritate e di discuterne la fruibilità nel dibattito etico ed economico. La nozione di dono ha un fondamento antropologico che va riconosciuto attraverso le esperienze degli esseri umani, quali la capacità di amare e la ricerca della verità. Il rapporto tra dono e giustizia e la tensione tra logica del dono e della ragione costituiscono delle criticità affrontabili ricorrendo a un modello personalista alla luce del quale il dono si configura non solo come un mezzo per ottenere fini comuni, ma come fine stesso. Il dono pertanto può essere apprezzato quale criterio intersoggettivo per valutare i comportamenti sociali.

Abstract (english)

The social doctrine of the Catholic Church has recently appealed to the notion of donation. The role that this notion holds in the Caritas in veritate will be evaluated and its availability in the ethical and economic debate will be discussed. The notion of donation has anthropological grounds which can be appreciated analyzing some typical experiences of human beings, e.g. the capability of love and the search for truth. The relationship between donation and justice and the tension between the logic of the donation and the logic of reason give rise to serious critical states that are deal with a personalistic approach. This model proposes donation not only as a means to achieve common tasks, but as an aim in itself, so it can be considered an intersubjective criterion to evaluate social behaviour.
