G. Lingua, Identità religiose e crisi dell’integrazione politica europea

Abstract

L’integrazione politica e la questione dell’identità religiosa rappresentano due snodi fondamentali di fronte ai quali l’Europa mostra le proprie difficoltà nel determinare le basi pre-politiche in grado di produrre un sentimento di lealtà alle istituzioni e di comune appartenenza all’Unione Europea. Comparando le posizioni di autori quali J. Weiler, J. Habermas et J.-M. Ferry, l’autore interroga le differenze tra i diversi modelli di integrazione e i presupposti teorici su cui poggiano. A partire da questa veloce comparazione l’articolo propone alcune vie rispetto alle esigenze poste dall’integrazione europea ai cittadini credenti e alle Chiese, partendo dalla convinzione che è più importante sviluppare una coscienza critica e democratica all’interno delle religione che non rivendicare delle identità con obiettivi meramente securitari.

Abstract (english)

Political integration and the question about the religious identities represent two essential points facing whom Europe shows its difficulties in defining the pre-political conditions allowing the European citizens to share a sense of loyalty and a common belonging to EU. Comparing the view of authors like J. Weiler, J. Habermas and J.-M. Ferry, this paper investigate the differences between various models of integration as well as their theoretical tenets. It then outlines a few possible ways dealing with the requirements imposed by the European integration on the believers and the churches. The starting point is the belief that it is more important to develop a democratic and critical sense within the religions than to raise identity claims simply in order to achieve safety objectives
